Chris Gayle is back..

Christopher Henry Gayle, the Big man from Jamaica is back in the IPL 2011.....that too, big time.....scoring a century in his first game and thereby giving a strong statement to all the people who didn't believed himself. What an innings he has played..Simply awesome and powerful hitting.

Chris Gayle is one of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball in the world. But, surprisingly in the auction, no one thought that he should be in their team. Thereby he was declared unsold. Royal Challengers Bangalore smartly called up Chris Gayle to their team....and you all know what happened after that. He proved his talent and showed the world what he is made of. And you know what....he played the blistering innings against KKR, in which team he was in the past.

Chris Gayle had some issues with the West Indies Cricket Board. They did not pick him up for the T-20 and the ODI series against Pakistan. And  therefore Chris was very much disappointed. He said he had no choice but to play in the IPL. He had a point to prove and here we are....He has made a strong statement to the world, to the selectors of his national team.

Now, forget all the controversial things, Lets get to the point, get to his innings. RCB had to chase down 172 which was quite a tough ask. Because their so called strong batting line-up haven't performed well in the recent matches. Here comes Chris Gayle, smashes the ball all around the park and pheww...the match is over with 2 overs spare. This guy was known for this, known for the big sixes, for the powerful hitting. And he showed why he is special. That six of 104 meters was clean and big. The longest hit in IPL 2011 so far. He scored 102* from just 55 balls with 9 fours and 7 big sixes. He is back...!!!!

Paul Valthaty - The Rising Star of IPL 2011

IPL 2011, the new season, the new heroes.... Every season of IPL, there were some super stars, some extra ordinary young talents exposed to a great platform where they can share their dressing rooms with great international players, and announce themselves to the world of cricket.

Shaun Marsh, Virat Kohli, Pragyan Ozha, Rohit Sharma, R Ashvin, Murli Vijay, David Warner, Yousuf Pathan, Saurabh Tiwary, Ravindra Jadeja, Sidharth Trivedi....and so on.....these are all the young superstars of the IPL. And now with the new season there are some new rising stars....1 of them is Paul Valthaty who plays for Kings XI Punjab. He is the new sensation of IPL 2011.

This guy can bat..whoaa....he scored a century and won the game against Chennai Super Kings on his head. And doing so, he announced himself in the IPL. He scored 120* in just 63 balls. And the most impressive thing is he doesn't slog every ball. His batting is about timing and finding the gaps. 11 players didn't looked like enough on the field when he was batting. He was finding gaps as easy as any one can. He has got good temperament. He stayed till the end and helped his team to chase 190 odd runs with an over spare. Which was looking like very very tough ask for the Kings XI Punjab boys. But he did it with his super class.

Well, If you think that was his day so he managed to score runs and he will not that reliable, here's his answer. The very next match, he came out with extra ordinary performance.....and this time with ball in his hand....he took 4 wickets and gave just 29 runs. He is not finished yet... He scored 75 from 47 balls. And this time too, smart batting not just slogging or smashing the bat at everything. What an all round performance..!!! He deserved the man of the match award in both the matches.

He continued the form to the next match also and scored 47 from 31 balls, which was also an important knock for his team. And guess what, He now owns the Orange Cap which is given to the highest run scorer in the season. He is not gone crazy and over confidant, he is still focused and his aim is to get place in Team India. I wish him good luck for that and i hope he will play as good and achieve his goals.

The Helicopter Shot

Is MS Dhoni the inventor of the helicopter shot???
Well, If you think yes he is, let me tell you something...you are absolutely wrong.

It is "The God", Sachin Tendulkar who invented this shot.

Sachin Tendulkar recently played the Helicopter shot in the IPL. All said he learned it from MS Dhoni, as Dhoni plays this shot very often. But, the reality is different. Sachin used to play this type of shot in the past. It's just that, he didn't play it very often. But, he played it. Here is the evidence.

Sachin used to play this shot in past. This vedio shows he played it in 2002. And Dhoni made his ODI debut in 2006. 4 years after the shot played by the great man. So, it is clear that Sachin invented the shot not Dhoni. But, I am taking nothing away from Dhoni. He plays this shot extremely well. He produces a lot of power by using his wrists and hits the ball out of the ground. There are no competitions here. But, it's just for knowledge that Sachin is the inventor of this shot. And Dhoni may be master at this.

In this context I wanted to tell you 1 thing......Dhoni is the Leader of Team India.....and Sachin is the inventor of the Team India.

IPL Team review : Chennai Super Kings

IPL Team Owner: India Cements
Captain: MS Dhoni
IPL Team Coach: Stephen Fleming (NZ)

Squad: MS Dhoni (Cap), Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, Albie Morkel, Michael Hussey, Scott Styris, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Tim Southee, Subramaniam Badrinath, George Bailey, Doug Bollinger, Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Ben Hilfenhaus, Shadab Jakati, Joginder Sharma, Suraj Randiv, Nuwan Kulasekara, Srikkanth Anirudha, Yo Mahesh, Sudeep Tyagi, Abhinav Mukund, Kuthethurshri Vasudevadas, Ganapathi Vignesh.

Chennai Super Kings......the winner of IPL 2010 and the Champions League T-20 2010. 1 of the best balanced teams in this season. The team led by the Captain Cool. The world cup winner captain is on high note. He has announced himself and his team with the 1st match....He has got a pretty good bunch of players. Team owners have done exceedingly well, They have retained their top 4 players. Dhoni, Raina, Vijay and Morkel are still with the team. And they have got Ashwin back also.

Well.....we all know what Dhoni can do....destructive batsman and a great wicket-keeper. He has got a talented team. Suresh Raina, the top run getters in IPL, the guy who is born T-20 player. Extremely talented and a true match winner and an extra ordinary feilder. Bonus part, he can bowl too. That too, some match winning performances by ball. Murli Vijay is also a very capable batsman. Michael Hussy and Scott Styris are there to strengthen the batting line-up.

CSK has got very good bowling attack. tThey don't have Oram and Murlidharan this time. But, they have Ashwin, Randiv, Bolinger, Kulashekhara, Albie Morkel and Jakati. These are the main bowlers of the CSK. And of course Raina can turn a few. Over all a very good bowling unit.

This season, CSK is 1 of the favorites to win. And they are surely into the top 3 strongest teams. Under the captaincy of Dhoni, this team can do wonders. Good Luck to the Super Kings.

BUT I AM SUPPORTING KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS THIS SEASON...Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo.... :D

IPL Team review : Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians
IPL Team Owner: Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani
Captain: Sachin Tendulkar
Coach: Robin Singh (IND)

Squad: Sachin Tendulkar (Cap), Kieron Pollard, Andrew Symonds, Rohit Sharma, James Franklin, Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga, Munaf Patel, Davy Jacobs, Clint McKay, Dilhara Fernando, Ambati Rayudu, Dhawal Kulkarni, Ali Murtaza, Abu Nechim, Aiden Blizzard, Yuzvendra Chahal, Moises Henriques, Sarul Kanwar, Rajagopal Sathish, Tirumalasetti Suman, Pawan Suyal, Aditya Tare (wk), Santosh Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav.

Mumbai Indians is one of the strongest and balanced teams in IPL 2011. Nita Ambani seems to be working pretty hard with the team. And they have done excellent job of retaining the match winners. 4 of them Sachin, Harbhajan, Polard, Malinga. Mumbai Indians performed extremely well in the last season of IPL and they were the most consistent team in the season 3. So, they must have thought to retain all the match winners. And they have done exactly that.

And apart from that, MI have got new players like Andrew Symonds who is all-rounder and he also can turn the match around on his head. Rohit Sharma, one of the top run getters in IPL and consistent performer and also has the ability to bowl well in crucial times in the game. He also got hattick in last season. So, very much an all-round player, a rising star who has got a new mentor, The God himself, Sachin. Davy Jacobs, quite a blasting opener who can play shots all around and score very quickly.

Well, Mumbai Indians' strength is the Indian players. We have seen, the team which has good Indian players has always performed well. A team cannot rely on 4 foreign players to win the match. In this context, MI has got a good bunch of Indian players, as well as the foreign players. They are missing Saurabh Tiwari this season. But, they have got Rohit Sharma who can fit his place. Ambati Rayudu, Dhawal Kulkarni, Ali Murtaza, Rajagopal Sathish, Tirumalasetti Suman... They are the talented young briged of Mumbai Indians. And of course this time, they have Munaf Patel also...
Over all, Mumbai Indians is a balanced team and have a good combination. which makes them favorites to win this season. Sachin is also in the greatest of form. And the have announced themselves in the 1st match. beating Delhi Daredevils comfortably in the end.

Ala rey......ala re ala....Duniya hilane aa gaya hai Mumbai Indians.

Toss controversy

The sequence of events that unfolded at the 'toss controversy'

The toss began with Ravi Shastri speaking about the coin which itself was a specially minted coin for the finals of the World Cup 2011, and would later on be auctioned at the ICC website. He then called out loud the captains' name and country and also the match referee Jeff Crowe's and the mascot. M.S. Dhoni was then handed over the special coin by Jeff Crowe and he then tossed the coin high up the air. All eyes were on the coin and the coin landed in front of Sangakkara's and Jeff Crowe's feet. Ravi Shastri asked Jeff Crowe what side of the coin turned up. And Jeff Crowe replied heads and gestured towards the two captains. Then started the confusion with Dhoni walking in and telling Sangakkara that he would like to bat first, to which Sangakkara expressed surprise and said that he had called heads and not tails. The confusion ensued for a good 20 seconds with the two captains amidst a rather polite argument with neither ready to step down. Ravi Shastri looked rather fluttered and said that 'one is heads and one is tails', obviously not making sense of what the big deal that the players were making about it, to which the match referee quite shamefully admitted that I did not hear them. It was Ravi Shastri who sought to solve it, rather than the match referee Jeff Crowe, and brought up the question whether it would be retaken and told the match referee that it was his call. The match referee then picked the coin up again and told that he is doing it again and handed the coin over to Dhoni again. Ravi Shastri chose to relieve the tension with jest saying that: 'the problem was the noise, you couldn't hear (the call) it.' Dhoni tossed it up again. This time Ravi Shastri made sure that he announced Kumar Sangakkara's call out aloud and boomed into his microphone that heads was the call. The coin turned out to be heads and Sri Lanka eventually won the toss. A slightly aggrieved Dhoni shook hands with the Sri Lankan captain and moved aside. The Sri Lankan captain then walked up to the microphone and stated that the Sri Lankans would bat first. The rest was the usual questionnaire on the team composition and the mood within the respective camps. But the strange happening at the toss time gave rise to whispers of 'Toss Fixing' all throughout the stadium and elsewhere.

This is the exact sequence what happened at the time of toss, i found it from google.
What happened at that time is ridicules. I mean, at International level this should not be happening, surely not on the day which matters the most.

Sangakkara was happy to do it again. And I think if he would have called heads not tails, he would not agree to toss 1ce again. Any captain would not want to do it again if he had won the toss. Dhoni was annoyed, and rightly so. He had won the toss and yet he was told that he had to toss the coin again because referee didn't hear the call!!!!

Sangakkara forgot the spirit of the game and did something he shouldn't do. He is representing his country, he is the icon player and he should not do this. Le let his country down by doing this. Any player should not forget that he is representing his country and do such things.

All is well that ends well. In the end, We WON the match and won the World Cup, this is all what matters to me. But, we don't expect this kind of controversy from a player like Sangakkara. He has made his image whole career, and this might spoil it. Well, all i have written here is what i think. It might b correct or not but ICC has to investigate and clarify it to us. Cricket must be played with the sporting spirit, that's all we want.

World Cup humara hai..!!!

2011 ICC Cricket World Cup....14 nations, 6 weeks 49 matches and 1 CHAMPION, THE TEAM INDIA.......surely deserving the cup. Yes, TEAM INDIA has won the World Cup 2011 and repeated the history. We have done it. After Motera and Mohali, it was Mumbai's turn and we have won, we have done it in style.

At the start of the tournament....all said this is the cup that counts, and we have made it count. And the credit goes to the team members for all the hard-work done. Every individual gave his 100%, in fact more than 100%, that's why we have won. The Final was the pressure game...and it was Team India who took the pressure and performed well. They were surely deserving the title, the way they played.

Sri Lanka won the controversial toss and chose to bat 1st. Jayawardene played crucial innings and scored an unbeaten ton, and with some help of Kulasekhara and Parera the Sri Lankan team scored 274, which was a very good total considering the World Cup final. But. Team India had their own plan. After Sehwag and Sachin, Kohli and Gambhir played sensibly and put up a partenership which was required at that stage. And than it was Dhoni show. He played 1 of his most precious innings. Kulasekhara bowling and dhoni hit his helicopter shot......and the world cup is ours... Let's relive the match again..

All I want to say is "World Cup humara hai..!!!"
Very Very well played Team India....You made us proud and gave us a moment which we will never forget. hip hip hurreyyyyyyyy...

JAI HIND!!

Memories of 1983 Cricket World Cup

1983 Cricket World Cup...the 3rd ever Cricket world Cup, hosted by England..and WON BY TEAM INDIA..!!!
Lets relive the entire tournament's highlights in the video.

Can any one decide why we won the Wolrd Cup?
Is it the great innings of 175 by Kapil Dev that helped us to reach the semi final?
Is it Mohinder Amaranth's all round performance?
Is it the blistering innings of Srikant in the final?
Is it the banana ball of Sandhu who got out dangerous Gorden Grinich?
Is it the great Catch by Kapil Dev of Sir Vivian Richards who was literally taking the Indian bowling apart?

We might not have won if any of the above would not have happened. It was all about the team performance, where every individual played beyond his abilities and gave more than 100% to play their important part in the victory. They created the history by beating the strong West Indian team.

I wasn't there...when Kapil Dev lifted the World Cup at Lords. But, I have been watching the final of 1983 World Cup many times. The Cup that inspired entire nation including Sachin Tendulkar. The memories and repeat telecasts still inspires us and we relive the victory.

Now, Its time to create history again, to win the world cup and show the world that we are the Champions. In this final there will b immense pressure on the players. But, they have to produce the performance never before, the performance that can win us the world cup, the performance which they can take proud of forever, the performance like champions. For that they just need to focus on their job, and play as 1 unit. 1 for all...all for 1. It's only team performance that can win and every player will play their role and lead TEAM INDIA to Victory.

In the Final, whoever plays should be able to handle the pressure and should be playing for pride, for victory. Weather it is Ashvin or it is Nehra, it doesn't make any difference. The team management will decide who will play according to the pitch. but, whoever plays, should understand their responsibilities and their role. Well, that's all I have to say.

Team India, It's the cup that counts. your best ever chance to do something for Sachin and of course for the 121 crore fans. From the 3 M, Motera and Mohali have been won, It's now turn of Mumbai. to all the supporters, keep supporting and keep praying for them, and they will do it....."Yeh World Cup to humara hai..!!!" Team india....De Ghuma ke ghuma ke world cup de...

Chak de India....JAI HIND..!!
